Why I didn’t Performed at the Ghana Party In The Park UK – Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale, a dancehall musician, has revealed why he skipped Ghana Party in the Park UK past weekend.

On Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Trent Park in London, not only did Shatta Wale not show up as scheduled, but so did Kofi Kinaata and Mayorkun of Nigeria.

On Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Shatta Wale disclosed that the event organisers had broken some of their promises.

On Tuesday, he revealed to the show’s host Andy Dosty that he and the CEO of Akwaaba UK, the event’s organisers, had initially agreed that the partnership should be viewed as a cooperation between Shatta Wale and the business.

The musician claimed that he told Dennis Tawiah that he wanted to promote the upcoming GoG Album and develop a “GoG experience” for UK fans.

According to Shatta Wale, Mr. Tawiah also agreed to grant visas to at least four of his team members who would travel with him to the European nation to support him.

“We had a plan for him to work with Akwaaba UK to create a GoG flyer. In light of this, it was anticipated that the name will be Akwaaba UK in addition to Shatta Movement for GoG experience. It’s time for us Ghanaian artists to start supporting the gatekeepers, I told him,” he said.

“I won’t charge him any money for this performance; I’d want to come and do it for free. I wanted him to keep every penny they’ll earn, but they should only see to it that he gets these two things (my visa and ticket) right, he said.

However, Shatta Wale claimed that several weeks after they had talked it over and decided on the terms, he came across a different flyer.

Shatta Wale expressed dissatisfaction with the situation and when he questioned Mr. Tawiah as to why their agreement went unheeded, he was informed that the group had decided on a new strategy.

Despite the setback, he abandoned the GoG experience plan and pleaded with Mr. Tawiah to see to it that he and his crew had their visas on time, according to the ‘Already’ hitmaker.

Since I received my visa three weeks ago, I’ve been wondering when my team will as well. I continued requesting because I wanted the staff to be present so that we can put on a magnificent show, he added.

Shatta Wale remarked that he even called Mr. Tawiah to inquire on Thursday, just 48 hours before the event, and on Friday, but received no satisfactory response. He questioned whether this was because he had volunteered to perform for free.

The Melissa singer claimed that many musicians are eager to work with event planners but are deterred by situations like these.

Mr. Tawiah claimed that they did not have enough time to meet Shatta Wale and his team’s demands.

He mentioned that the Akwaaba UK team apologised to customers, clients, and all other interested parties after the incident.
