The first Ghanaian to top the Reggae iTunes chart in the US is the dancehall musician Shatta Wale.
He bested Shaggy and his songs “Angel” and “It wasn’t me,” Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds, Jimmy Cliff, Wayne Wonder, and other well-known artists globally with his song “Property.”
A movie that will be released on December 18, 2020, will feature Shatta Wale in a coveted role thanks to his involvement.
The Jamaican marketing company Contractor Music Group executive produced the “Jamaican Garrison Christmas compilation,” which was published in 2020.
The self-described Dancehall musician’s song follows that of Mr Eazi, a Nigerian musician who became the first African artist to top the non-Reggae chart on USA iTunes.
In the meantime, Shatta’s “On God” has received a nomination for the Brazilian BreakTudo Awards’ 2022 “Anthem of the Year” category.
