Dancehall musician Shatta Wale has achieved another triumph in his musical career, following the Recording Industry Association of America’s gold certification of Beyoncé’s Already song (RIAA).
Shatta Wale made history by becoming the first Ghanaian to get international recognition from the RIAA.
The Gold and Platinum Awards Program was created by the RIAA to honour artists and track sound recording sales. It has also changed into the benchmark for success in the recorded music industry.
The song “Already” from The Lion King Album is categorised as Afrobeat music. The song by American singer Beyoncé, Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale, and American band Major Lazer is also included in the 2020 film Black is King.
The Greater Accra Region and the Eastern Region were used to film the music video.
At the 6th annual AEAUSA and the 18th Urban Music Awards in 2022, “Already” was named Best Collaboration of the Year. The song won the Best Collaboration prize at the 2020 BreakTudo Awards
